Most first journeys follow Lhasa, the Yarlung valley, and roads west toward Everest or Kailash. Eastern Tibet offers a different character: deeper valleys, forested slopes, and cultural threads that include Bon sacred sites as well as Buddhist monasteries.
Who it is for
Eastern loops suit travellers with more time — often two weeks or longer — and a taste for overland days. Roads can be slower; scenery rewards patience. We match vehicle and guide experience to the route.
Planning notes
Extra permits may apply depending on the prefectures you enter. We confirm those when dates are firm. Summer greenery is spectacular; shoulder seasons can mean clearer roads and fewer vehicles.
