Approaching Everest from Tibet is an overland journey, not a trek from Lukla. Most guests drive from Lhasa or Shigatse toward Rongbuk Monastery, with time built in to adjust to altitude before the final stretch toward Base Camp.

What to expect

Days are long on the road. Views open suddenly — the north face of Qomolangma is unmistakable when the weather clears. We pace overnight stops so you are not racing from Lhasa to 5,000 metres in a single push.

Practical notes

Weather can close visibility without warning. We keep itineraries flexible enough for an extra night when skies are worth waiting for. Permits for the Everest region are arranged with your main Tibet Travel Permit package.

If EBC is on your list, tell us how many days you have and whether you prefer a private vehicle or a small group departure. We will map a realistic route from Lhasa.
